Many people feel that they should wait until after winter to have their carpets cleaned. Let’s look at a couple of reasons why some may feel that way…

“The carpet will get dirty right away.”
I agree. Ifyou come in with wet, muddy shoes on. But how about taking your shoes off before you walk on the carpet? I could go into great detail explaining all the bad things that can be tracked onto your carpet, visible and invisible, winter or summer, but I don’t want to spoil your dinner. Then there are the cutting soils that can be tracked from your shoes that cause abrasion and cause those ugly traffic lanes in the areas you walk the most. So, this is an excellent time to train yourself to take your shoes off. Your carpet will thank you for it!

“It will take longer to dry.”

It could take a little longer. During the summer months carpets can take around 4 to 6 hours to dry on average. In the winter, usually it takes between 5 to 7 hours. I have two high-powered fans that I put into place when I’m done cleaning that certainly help speed up the drying process. So, in most cases, the difference between dry time in the winter versus the summer is very little.

One more thing to consider is that I am not as busy during the winter. This usually means you can schedule your cleaning appointment when you want and not have to wait. I also have more time to do some extras that you may not have thought about. Like your couch or area rug that you’ve been meaning to have cleaned.
In the winter, we tend to spend most of our time indoors. So, having clean carpets greatly improves our indoor air that we’re forced to breathe. Also, removing the soil covering the fibers makes the colors brighter, it feels softer and smells better. Sounds just like what the doctor ordered to make you feel better on a dreary winter’s day!
